I thought that I liked my other paddle (carbon bent shaft non foam core) until using the AT2 Flexi. I could not believe how natural and comforting the grips felt. The blades were very smooth, and easy to get used too. The feel of the flexi shaft is awesome. The only drawback is that you have to get a 196, and a 197 is a special order. A 197 is perfect for me.
I paddled with another brand for 13 years. This year I switched to an AT2 Flexi to help with my elbow tendonitis. The flexible shaft has made a difference, but the paddle has more to offer. It paddles smooth, has a lot of power, and the grip feels great!

This is my favorite paddle for playboating and all around river running. It has been strong enough to hold up to 2 years of my abuse on the river and is still just as strong. The best part about this paddle is the flex. This was my paddle of choice while rehabbing a hurt shoulder and still is because of its ease on my shoulders. The flex is enough to give my joints a break, but not too much to ensure strong and powerful strokes. If playboating is your focus like mine, you will appreciate this paddle for its strength and flex.

This paddle is well worth the investment. I’ve paddled it for 5 years now and it’s still going strong. I think there’s something to say about the flex. Having a paddle that gives a little bit seems to go a long way on saving your joints. I definitely have less tweaked shoulders and elbows, especially on long days of hard river running or sessions at the play park. It always resurfaces nicely too!
