I purchased this paddle in 2011 as a spare to be carried in my boat for safety purposes as well as to carry on flights in an effort to avoid extra baggage charges. The FIRST time I used it the right shaft split in two places causing the right blade to dislodge and be lost (this occured in an inocuous class III rapid). Fortunately a member of my paddling group was carrying a breakdown werner paddle which worked as one would expect! This paddle is also extremely difficult to put together which could be a big problem in river situations.
can I adjust the blade offset? eg, 30, 45, 60, 90.

Bomber 4-piece lightweight breakdown for a great price. What else needs to be said? The joints on my paddle have remained mostly tight after years of use. Sure, you can buy a more expensive breakdown but if you want to get a good deal on a paddle that will get the job done, here it is it.
