If you wear an Astral rescue vest, this bag is a no brainer. It fits great in the vest and is right there when you need it. It is a great tool for quick short rope throws or lowers, but you'll want to have a backup longer rope in your boat if you are setting safety on a larger river or creek.

I love this bag because I never worry about forgetting it regardless of what boat I'm in. Also there has been more than once where I've needed two ropes and this is great to have just in case.
Best throw bag out there because it easily fits into your lifejacket so it is handy at all times. I've heard complaints about the additional bulk it creates, but as soon as you are out on the water it is unnoticeable. The spectra ones are extra sweet because it is super durable and won't break even when pulling a stuck van out of a sand pit!!!!!

As someone who has occasionally been separated from my water craft and hence my main rope, this bag is an awesome back-up. I've used it to pull people from holes and extricate my pinned boat. A must for safety on creeks. It's low profile and super strong Spectra rope.
Astral Buoyancy's Spectra Throw Bag is a low profile throw rope that fits in Astral Buoyancy Life vests. At 50 feet long it fits comfortably in the front pocket of Astral Pullovers, and behind the pockets on Astral's front-entry vests. All whitewater paddlers should carry a rope! A rope in your boat doesn't help. One in your hand does. Save time in an emergency -- nuff said. This rope is offered in a Polypropylene and Spectra Version.
