The Buena Vista Whitewater Park has been recently expanded downstream into the South Main Neighborhood development Now with 5 main whitewater structures and numerous eddy and trail improvements and climbing walls and trail, the Buena Vista Play Park is quickly becoming the premier whitewater park in Colorado. All of the features have been fine tuned to optimize hydraulic performance and better the park for everyone who uses it. Including SUP-Stand Up Paddlers. Be sure to check it out the next time you are in the Upper Arkansas Valley.
Getting to the Buena Vista River Park is simple. Whether you are coming from the north or south, on Hwy 24, turn east onto E. Main St. (the only stoplight in town) and take it until it ends at the River Park. At the park you’ll find ample parking, changing rooms, boat ramps, trails and access all along the west side of the river. Please note that you can access the entire park from the South Main Square also. As you head toward the river from E Main St, head onto South Main and park at the Square which is between the Downtown and Lo Do features. From there you can walk to the upper parts of the park and float and play to your vehicle. Below are descriptions of each of the 5 key whitewater features.
