Our retail storefront is located at 327 E Main St. in Historic Buena Vista Colorado 81211 roughly 2 hours southwest of Denver in the heart of the Rockies. With hundreds of miles of whitewater within a short drive from our store we are a convenient stop for paddlers from all over the world looking to experience the best paddling that Colorado has to offer. We have over 5000 Square feet of retail space featuring the largest selection of paddle sport products in Rockies including: Whitewater Kayaks, Paddle Boards, Rafting Accessories, as well as Fishing, Recreational, and Touring kayaks. Located in the Northern Arkansas River Valley just blocks from the Buena Vista Whitewater Park and minutes away from the famous Arkansas River runs like the Numbers ,Lake Creek, Clear Creek, and Browns Canyon as well as the scenic reservoirs Clear Creek and Twin Lakes.

CKS- Colorado Kayak Supply maintains a large rental fleet in our Buena Vista store location including kayaks, rafts, inflatable kayaks, paddle boards, gear and accessories. Rentals are available Spring thru September 15th each year.
Requirements: CKS requires individuals renting equipment for the rivers to have previous paddling or river running experience. The individual renting the equipment assumes all responsibility for their own safety as well as the safe return of all equipment rented. CKS maintains the right to refuse rentals to anyone for any reason. If you are un-certain of your skills CKS STRONGLY recommends taking a lesson from Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center.
Reservations are recommended. Equipment is reserved on a first come first basis.
Rental Reservation Cancellation Policy: All reservation made over the phone are final. If you cancel your reservation prior to 48 hours of your reservation date, you will receive an in-store credit at CKS that never expires for the full amount you paid. Within 48 hours of your reservation, there are no refunds. There are no cash refunds for any reservations made in advance. Be sure to pre-plan your trip accordingly or just come by CKS to see what is available to rent the day of your trip. You can also call 719 395-8653 x 2 to see what is available on a given day.
High Water Policy: CKS will cease all boat/board rentals when the water level in Brown's Canyon is at or above 2,700 cfs. If your gear reservation must be canceled due to high water you will receive a refund in the form of an in store credit for the amount you paid. Click here for current river flows.

Our River Parks: The Upper Arkansas River is home to over 115 miles of whitewater and 2 beautiful whitewater parks.
The Buena Vista Play Park is one of the longest in Colorado with 4 diverse features, dozens of eddies, and class 2 whitewater linking it all together. It is perfect for beginners to experts. Located just Blocks from the CKS store it is a perfect place to demo gear and grab a quick evening surf before dining at one of Buena Vistas new Restaurants. The BV playpark is home to Paddlefest and the BV PRO Rodeo.
The Salida Play Park is one of Colorado’s original whitewater parks. It has 2 terrific play features, a permanent slalom course, and is located right next to great hangouts like the Boat House Cantina and Salida Café in the heart of Colorado’s largest historic district. Salida is Home to the states largest and longest running whitewater festival FIBARK.
