Top 3 Rivers: Man!  That is a tough one to narrow down!! But I would have to go with the ones that stand out the most in my mind right now -

-Middle Kings, CA (For the instant adventure and great whitewater)

-The Royal Gorge, CA (Wanna go huge?..with 40 lbs of gear in your stern?)

-Poland Creek, AZ (This newbie has it all. Cacti, waterfalls and granite) 

The Perfect Vacation is: Having the airport staff cooperating and allow my boat on the plane...with no charge...and then flying into a foreign country, loading up boats, gear, rice and Top Ramen, driving to an unknown put-in, on an unknown river, and drop some serious gradient for days on end.

Hobbies other than kayaking: I surf, spearfish, scuba dive, wakeboard (hmm..all water sports) and I weight train, to stay in shape for the next adventure.

Best day of paddling ever: Oh man...well this is a tough one for a religious boater!  I have had some recent great ones, but one of the better days i've had was hiking 6-7 miles into the Royal Gorge (road was snowed in) with my brother Bret, and then paddling the first 3.5 miles of the gorge down to Heath Springs. That was quite the initiation to overnight class V+. And then setting up camp and realizing I forgot my sleeping bag.  Good times.
