Squad Bio:

Home town?  Prospect, Virginia

Paddling days per year?  Currently, hardly any, but next year I am entering a 2 year associate's degree in whitewater paddle sports at the Adventure Sports Institute at Garrett College, McHenry Maryland.  After graduation I plan on traveling in my RV and living where ever the rivers take me; where I can work and live in, on, and near the rivers in my kayak gear from CKS.

Favorite place to paddle?  I don't have an extensive resume of rivers I've paddled, but I want to hit the Montana waters of the Gallatin and Yellowstone some day for an extended period of time.  And of course I'll have some runs in the vast Colorado river havens!

Why I paddle?  It's all I dream about all of the time.  The natural beauty and intensity and thrill of the whole experience.  It is my life.

Favorite kayaking flick?  "When it Rains" presented by Chasing Rain productions, a fun (and at times funny), and Zen-like little 2005 film.  The guys featured in the film are wild, and I totally feel their passion for the sport in their documented outdoor travels.  But really, I love almost all dvds featuring good whitewater and surf kayaking footage, as well as good instructional videos.

What I do when the river is dry? For droughts or days I can't get to the river, I bought an above ground pool just to practice rolls and work on different little paddle maneuvers.  I can't hang out there too long because the wave surge from being in such a contained space makes me really motion sick after awhile
