The good: These pants are breathable and when put on properly they are completely dry as I can tell. I've tested them by swimming around in an eddy and stayed completely dry. I'm yet to test them by swimming a rapid but I expect them to keep completely dry or close to it. Another advantage is that they dont have that slow seep at your waist that you get with normal dry pants dry top combo
The bad: These are a pain to put on. So make sure you go to the bathroom before putting them on. They take longer to get into when compared to a dry suit.
Conclusion: They're cheaper than buying a full on drysuit and work basically as good. I'd suggest buying them if you don't mind spending the time of putting them on.

The Tropos Whirpool bib are an incredible value. It does not have all of the bells and whistles like a relief zipper but 1ts only 184.00. If you pair this with a quality dry-top you will not be disappointed. These bibs keep me very dry.

If you use this with a quality drytop it is your best option for a cheap way to stay comfortable this year. the only bad thing is the lack of relief zipper but hey they are a steal for what they are!
