the shoes are pretty decent as far as a creeking booty goes. not super sticky (problem), but generally acceptable.
the problem is that the construction is complete crap. i'm now about to retire my second pair in a few years. they really just can't handle the rigors of the river. it's a shame, but the just fall apart. the entire seem between upper and sole just comes apart. on my current pair, i had to glue it all together, but it is now coming apart again since i don't have the best glue.
end result is that the nrs attack shoe seems like a good idea, but shoddy construction makes them not worth your time.

Scouting on shore or navagating in the river, these are good shoes. Not only do they protect the toes and ankles, the shoes have a great grip (must be wore a few times for the grip to work). These shoes also last. I've had my latest pair for about 5 years!

These shoes are not for the California paddler. They make granite seem like oiled glass. I fell wearing them on a portage on the Upper NF Kaweah. I ran Brush Creek into the Kern and had to take them off as they made me slip and nearly fall over a 18' drop.
The NRS Attack Shoes are the perfect water shoe for the rigors of kayaking. This shoe handles a long hike in to the put in as well as long, hard, rocky scouts. The NRS Attack Shoe has an improved HyperGripâ„¢ sole and integrated heel-to-arch strap. From put-in to take-out, NRS Attack Shoes will take you anywhere.
NRS's Attack Shoe Features:
Improved HyperGrip sole provides impressive traction on both wet and dry surfaces.
Multiple drainage points in the sole and upper allow water to easily escape, while keeping out sand and grit.
The adjustable arch strap with side-release buckle snugs the shoe to your foot for stability and stay-put assurance - in the water or on the trail.
A separate heel strap prevents ride up as you step.
Cushy 2.5-mm neoprene construction supports your foot while retaining classic thermal capabilities.
Tough rubber toe and heel cup protect your foot from the bumps and bashing of portage and scouting.
Rugged PVC-coated woven polyester material wrapped around the sides of the shoe and across the top of the toes gives impact protection and improves lateral stability.
