These pogies are very warm and will actually make your hands sweat if it's warmer than upper 30s and you are paddling hard, but it is much more difficult to slide your hands into them than on many of the other designs out there. Rolling up the cuff and snapping it in place makes it a little easier to slide your hands in, but still not as easy as others that I have tried. They seem well made and I have several friends who swear by them. Bottom line: if warmth is your top priority then these are a great option, but if you want to slide your hands in quickly and easily then get something else.

Mamba Pogies are the best. I like the snaps on the cuff. I keep it snapped and rolled up when I'm creeking and fully extended on REALLY cold days. Great buy!

I love these things! In the past I used gloves but it always felt like I was struggling to maintain a good grip and I sacrificed a good feel for the paddle. I’m not sure why they call them pogies, they might as well call them oven mitts cause these little gems are hot, hot, hot! Now obviously they don’t keep as much water off your skin as gloves do, but neoprene is made to retain heat when it’s wet, and 5mm of it is plenty. The big thing is that these “oven mitts” keep the wind from getting to your hands.
The NRS Mambas are designed to provide maximum warmth with out sacrificing your feel on the paddle. Mamba Pogies are perfect for boaters who want to have direct contact with their paddles while keeping their hands warm. Mamba Pogies are made with 5mm neoprene to provide the ultimate protection for you hands.
Mamba Pogie Features:
Mambas allow for direct contact with your paddles while keeping your hands warm on the coldest days.
Thick, 5-mm neoprene, with titanium laminate adhesive, provides outstanding insulation.
Nylon-coated neoprene resists abrasion while the raw neoprene top surface prevents evaporative cooling.
The cuff snaps give you the option of rolling the cuff up for easier access or down for extra warmth.
