I've been using the Salamander Beam Bags for 15 years. I'm still using the original one I purchased in 1996. It's works as a "glove compartment" for your boat. You can attach it to either the front or rear beam, or even to the back of the back band on boats without beams (Eskimo, etc.) I've got one in each boat of my quiver and store basic essentials such as duct tape, emergy bars, and any thing else that needs a place to stay.
It is not water proof and whatever is in the bag will be wet if you should swim. The good news is that the attachement system is bomber and you won't lose the bag if the boat runs a rapid without you.
The Salamander Beam Bag is a perfect pouch that maximizes storage space in today's small boats. This little bag attaches to the vertical pillar of your boat and allows quick easy access to all the little stuff.
