I purchased this because I was having problems with water sheeting off from my helmet when coming up from rolls, keeping me from seeing.
I was skeptical that this would work as advertised, particularly when I put it on my Pro-Tec Ace, with the ventilation holes in the forehead which kept the velcro from having full contact with the helmet. The "female" velcro self-adhesive strip was not very flexible and it bunched up across the front.
My first trip with the visor on was on the Lower Yough at high water (5'+). My first roll was a quick affair, and the visor flipped up and down while I was under, but was fine. I didn't give it a second thought the couple of other rolls I didn't have any problems. One particularly difficult roll that took two tries the visor flipped up, and on another I hit a rock pretty hard, and it fuzzed up the nylon band of the visor, but it didn't come off.
All-in-all, it definitely did its job, it's almost stylish, and its performance exceeded my initial expectations. We'll see how it does over the long term. It's WAY better than wearing a ball cap under the helmet.
