Thermal wear can be thought of as your base layer, and is worn underneath outerwear like paddle pants and dry tops.. Experienced whitewater, touring and recreational paddlers know that exposure to cool water may be refreshing, but requires proper protection from the elements to avoid potentially dangerous scenarios ranging from simple discomfort, shivering or sunburn to hypothermia. Dress according to the climate you will be paddling in and base your thermal wear selection on the water temperature- Not the air temperature. |
