Whitewater kayak helmets are designed to take a beating on the river. Kayak helmets are made from either Composite materials or ABS Plastic.
Composite helmets are made from a mixture of fiberglass and Shredlar, and are capable of taking a hard hit (make sure to inspect your helmet after each hit, if spidering occurs, replace it).
ABS can take a hard hit, is lightweight and distributes impacts well (again, always inspect your helmet after a hit and replace if neccessary). |
