   Whitewater Kayaks

CKS carries a wide variety of whitewater kayaks, which are a fun and exciting way to explore and enjoy rivers. There are 4 main types of hard-shell whitewater kayaks, which are freestyle kayaks, free running kayaks, river running kayaks and creeking kayaks. Each of these categories is described below.

Brands featured: Pyranha, Dagger, Liquidlogic, Jackson Kayak and Wavesport.

Rodeo/Freestyle Kayaks

Freestyle kayaks can perform tricks on any type of river feature (including flatwater), and excel on waves and holes. These kayaks are short and have a planing hull, sharp edges, near vertical sidewalls, and centralized volume distribution.

Free Running Kayaks

Free Running Kayaks are for kayakers who enjoy paddling the river, but want to play the entire river instead of just one feature. These Kayaks blend the features of a river running kayak with those of a freestyle kayak.

River Running Kayaks

River Running kayaks navigate many diverse rivers for boaters of all abilities, and are ideal for beginner paddlers.  River Running kayaks carve smoothly, track well, and surf waves, making them great for paddling high volume rivers.

Creeking Kayaks

Creeking Kayaks, are designed for steep, technical, and challenging whitewater. Different designs excel at low-volume steep creeks to high-volume pushy rivers.  Higher volume, Softer Edges, and Safety/rescue features are built into the design.
