This helmet has stood the test of time. A Shaggy protected my head for about 8 years. When one of my friends was getting into kayaking, I gave him that helmet, and bought a new one. I couldn't think of a reason to get anything else.
This helmet saved my life, the Kevlar fiberglass eased the blow of a very hard hit on Lake Creek. I will use nothing else but Shred Ready. The Hog system is great, stays on nice and secure!

I've hit my head wearing a plastic pro-tec helmet, and it is way worth it to spend more on a shred ready. The shaggy is a great price for a great helmet, and it makes bonkin your head before a combat roll a walk in the park.
The Shred Ready Shaggy is a billed composite kayaking helmet great for playboating and riverrunning. The Shaggy has the same shape as the Shred Ready Super Scrappy, but is made with a Shredlar Armid Fiber/fiberglass composite Shell instead of ABS Plastic. The composite shell gives the helmet more durability over time and might take a few more hits than plastic helmets. The Shaggy is a 'one-size-fits-all' helmet with interchangeable, sized, foam fitting pads and the Shred Ready H.O.G. system for an easy, guarantee perfect fit. A four-point retention system allows the helmet to be worn forwards or backwards depending on your style.
