I'd been using the WRSI Current with a facemask attachment for the past few years that I wanted to replace. I first tried the Sweet Rocker Full Face, but the shape didn't quite work on my head (I had a hotspot). The SR Carbon Deluxe uses a similar construction to the Sweet, using a composite shell, and EPP foam liner for impact absorption. The Sweet felt a little heavier, much makes me wonder if it has a little thicker construction, but I can't say for sure. The lightness of the SR makes it slightly more comfortable.
The SR fit is quite good. While the Sweet has foam outfitting pads for the lower and upper part of the helmet, the SR is limited to just fit pads on the lower part of the helmet. For me this worked out just fine since the upper part fit my head out of the box and it was trivial to swap out the smaller pads for medium pads on the lower helmet.
The H.O.G 2 occipital lock is a standout feature on this helmet and once in place is extremely comfortable and my helmet literally won't budge when pushing up on it. It's even better than the WRSI in this respect, a helmet which was designed specifically to avoid the helmet getting pushed back on the head. It also surpassed the Sweet Rocker Full Face in this area.
The chin strap on this helmet is excessively long for all but the largest heads and needs to be cut down after it's fitted. I find the adjustable buckle that sizes the triangle around your ears to not stay in place well and requires frequent adjustment when taking the helmet on and off (the most frustrating part of the helmet).
The Sweet helmet comes with EVA foam ear pieces which the SR lacks. The ear pieces offer some extra temple protection and more importantly keep the helmet stable side to side.
The faceguard comes down a little lower than the WRSI w/ attachment. I noticed this a bit when tucking my head down, but ultimately it doesn't bother me much when paddling.
Overall this is a great helmet with similar construction and protection to the Sweet Rocker Fullface. It has the best occipital lock on the market. It lacks a few outfitting niceities that come with the Sweet, especially the EVA foam ear pieces. This is definitely one the top contenders for those in the market for a whitewater full face helmet.

Awesome helmet! This was my first full face helmet, and I was a bit nervous that my vision would be impaired. This was not the case at all, and I barely noticed a difference from my Sweet Rocker. The Shred Ready is lighter and fit me much better than the Sweet full face. I really like the retention system and am surprised more manufacturers haven't adopted this type of system. Strong, comfortable, lightweight, adjustability - these are the reasons I would go with this helmet!

Definitely for smaller heads, good thing I have a smaller head. Extremely light helmet that doesn't effect vision at all. Strong and ridged. I'm confident it will hold up to any blow. Take the time to fit it perfectly, if you pull up on the face mask and it goes up to your eyes change the straps or padding or the retention strap. Do not put on with out taking the time to fit this helmet.
