As a class 3 boater, I don't need a rescue vest (yet) and i didn't want to break the bank either, this PFD was a perfect choice. Before i actually held it i was worried that it might be restrictive or chaff in the armpits, but my worries were based on an optical illusion from the pic. It sits low on the torso and very comfortably so. For a first test i wore it swimming in the pool of a local creek, it performed well, floating my shoulders above the water even in the aeration of the pourover. Next was the shock test, I climbed up the bank and hopped off a spot favorited by the local kids. Even from 10-12' feet the vest only rode up a few inches, never rising above my ribcage. Wearing this vest I feel safe in the water, and comfortable in the boat. Can't ask for more than that!
