Position: CKS Sales Associate
Location: Colorado Kayak Supply retail store in Buena Vista, Colorado.
Background: Colorado Kayak Supply (CKS) is one of the largest whitewater paddle-sports dealers in the world. Operations include an online store, a mail order catalog and retail outlets. A large part of the business is based around whitewater kayaking but also includes rafting, inflatable kayaks, touring and recreational kayaks, accessories, soft goods, and clothing. CKS is owned and operated by paddlers for paddlers.
Job Description: The primary responsibility of a CKS sales associate is to provide excellent customer service to our customers. This involves greeting customers, answering questions they have in relation to the products we sell and assisting them in choosing the best products to suit their needs. Interaction with customers is typically done in person at our retail store location, but may sometimes be over the phone or through email.
Beyond customer service other duties will include;
-Using our POS system and cash register.
-Answering phones.
-Dealing with warranty issues and customer complaints.
-Receiving and labeling new products as they arrive in the store.
-Merchandizing items in the store.
-Restocking products on the sales floor from our back stock.
-Using your particular strengths to contribute to the CKS team.
Qualifications:
-Prior retail experience is preferred, but not required.
-Competent kayaker or rafter preferred, but not required.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Good computer skills.
-Knowledge of the products we carry.
-Ability to relay information to customers in a professional manner.
-Trustworthy and dependable.
-Self motivated and able to multi-task.
Job Length:
-Position starts first week in May, 2009 commitment date is through mid-August, 2009.
-This position is available in both full and part-time hours
