Top 5 gear picks from CKS and why:
-
Watershed Ocoee Dry Duffel- I loved these bags, always keeps my camera bone dry and is the only bag I trust to stay dry when it needs to.
-
Dagger Nomad 8.5- Really like the mix of speed and maneuverability of this boat; it also has plenty of room for overnights.
Kokatat GMER Drysuit- This is one piece of gear I couldn’t live without, it makes paddling in cold conditions enjoyable and is key in rescue scenarios.
Whitewater of the Southern Rockies- The amount of runs in this book would be more than any of us could do in a lifetime, but its fun to try and get on them all! And the pictures are amazing.
Werner Powerhouse- This paddle holds up to the abuse of steep creeking and huge drops better than any other paddle on the market.

The Perfect Vacation is: Loading up with as big of a crew as I can find (including adding to our crew with new friends) and going for as long as we can, running the most remote, beautiful, difficult whitewater we can find, and loving every minute of it.

Best day of paddling ever: So hard to pick just one day! Here are 3 of the more memorable ones: The bottom 9 miles of the middle for of the kings (more class 5 rapids than most of us get to run in a season stacked into 9 miles of sickness), Hellsgate of the tonto creek (3 days but such a sick adventure without any beta and only two of us), Rogers creek in British Columbia with 4 of my best friends in the world lapping the cleanest waterfalls around.
