Looking to upgrade your old boat or board for a new one? CKS offers two incredible programs to help you do just that!  These programs are offered year-round and have proven to be exceptionally successful for our customers. 

TRADE-IN PROGRAM 

Bring your kayak or board to CKS for a free trade-in evaluation.  As long as your kayak or SUP is on our list of “Acceptable Trade-Ins” (see details below) a CKS staff member will take the time to do an evaluation and give you an accurate trade-in amount based on the year, condition, and overall appearance of the boat.  If you choose to accept the offered trade-in value you will receive an instant store credit, which never expires and can be used towards any purchase at CKS.  This is a very popular program and gives paddlers a fair and easy way to trade-in the older boats without the hassle and risk of selling to the public.   

Trade-In Program Details – We update our list of ‘Acceptable Trade-In Models’ yearly and can give trade-in estimates over the phone or via e-mail.  Your actual trade-in value will not be determined until a CKS staff member has personally inspected your boat or board at our store.  We do not accept gear with major blemishes, cracks, missing outfitting or those that are outdated.  We inspect all gear with overall quality and future safety in mind.  CKS typically offers a trade-in value of about $100 (give or take) less than the current “street value”.  We will then re-sell the boat at street value.  This $100 margin is used to pay for our staff time, shipping, processing and handling fees related to the sale of your boat.

 CONSIGNMENT PROGRAM

Bring your boats, boards or paddles to CKS and we’ll sell it on consignment to the public. If your item(s) sell you choose between store credit or cash back for re-payment.

In Store Credit No Commission- If you choose the store credit option you will receive 100% of the total sale value for your items that sold. The credit will be issued immediately after the sale of your gear.  The credit never expires and can be used towards any purchase at CKS. 

Cash Back Option- If you choose the cash back option you receive 60% of the total sale value for your items that sold (meaning CKS takes a 40% commission).  A check will be issued and mailed to you within one week of the sale of your item(s). 

Consignment Program Details - CKS will help you determine the re-sale price of your consignment item(s).  Price will be based on industry research and evaluation of your item(s) by our staff.  We update our list of ‘Acceptable Consignment Models’ yearly and can give sale value estimates over the phone or via e-mail.  Actual consignment sale prices are not determined until a CKS staff member has personally inspected your boat at our store.
