I've paddled the Project X 56 for a season and am still happily impressed by this boat. It is loose on a wave and feels like it wants to jump into the air. In a hole it is poppy and snaps around with ease. Complicated moves are much easier in this boat. While being a great freestyle boat, it also performs great as a river runner. The stern is solid in big water compared some playboats I have paddled in the past.
I am in love with the new Project X 48. I am 5 foot and I weight 105 lbs and the project x fits perfect. I used to paddled the Project 45 and the new Project X has higher knee bumps allowing you more leverage to throw mega loops! With a slicey bow I can cartwheel easier, and with the shorter stern makes mcnasties come around faster. Give the new Project X a try you will not be disappointed.
The new project X 48 is awesome!! Its fast and loose on waves. The ends are slicey and easy to initiate the bow for down river tricks and cartwheeling in a feature. With extra volume in the knee area it increases comfort and allowing the body to have a more aggressive position for throwing the boat around and getting mad pop for loops. The extra overall volume of the 48 feels easier to paddle rather than the 45 project because the volume it close to the body. You will fall in love once you paddle this boat.

This boat is absolutely amazing. Coming from paddling the project 52, this boat is a big step forward. More leg room, more volume, more comfortable, and way better performance. Super fast while surfing and responsive edges that give complete control. My favorite part about the boat is the bow. Its slicey enough to make cartwheel tricks easier, but still has enough volume to go huge for loop based tricks. I also love the stern. Its shorter than the 52, so it releases easier and makes tricks like the McNasty and Phonix way easier to come around. Overall this has been my favorite playboat to date!!

The Wavesport Project X 48, 56, and 64 has a new, progressive shape that will cut loose on waves and stay balanced and controlled in holes. The Project X’s highly refined design, new volume distribution and outfitting system make it the ultimate in performance and visual excitement. The new boat is an evolution of the original Project and homage to the legacy of the X, however it is not a melding of the two popular designs. The progressive rocker shape of the Project X hull, combined with the new volume distribution, puts the Project X in new territory for performance and comfort. The Project X is tuned to maintain speed, give explosive pop, offer easier release, and provide smooth control over any wave for easier execution of moves. More volume has been added around the knees, which allows for control, maximum comfort, and a slicier performance at the ends. All of this is combined with new sizing options to give a broad range of paddlers even greater comfort and control. The stunning “WhiteOut” outfitting system lets paddlers hit the rapids in a one-of-a-kind, dazzling all-white material. The unmistakable wallpaper logo pattern contrasts with the fabric for a visual that’s almost as much fun to stare at as it is to get in. The unique vinyl covering the seat, hip-pads, back band, and thigh braces is also water-repellent, meaning less dry time and better mildew control.
