I have been using Werner paddles for 15 years now. The best paddle I have ever used; and I've tried many. Lots of power for big strokes in the Powerhouse blade.
I have never broken one. Lost several. Had to replace a few from the fiberglass wearing down. I prefer the fiberglass because it is less painful to replace it.

i'm really not sure how other paddle companies stay in business while Werner continues to make the best paddles on the market. Werner has proven over and over again that it makes the most durable paddle out there. I have tried several different paddles throughout my kayaking career and other brands simply don't compare. I have whittled down the blades to the size of peanut shells on my 5 year old Werner with hundreds of class V creek runs and it still won't break. The Powerhouse has everything you need for a creeking paddle and you can be confident for long trips that it won't let you down. You could buy this paddle as a beginner and pass it down from generation to generation and it will still withstand the test of time and be a great paddle.

This is the strongest paddle on the market, it holds up to any abuse you can throw at it. I have run large waterfalls without issue with this paddle and watched while others broke their paddles on the same drop. The werner straight shaft fiberglass are also excellent for the beginner because the are very affordable and are easy to find when you swim (I guess this one applies to us all!). The powerhouse is a durable, comfortable, and versatile paddle; and best of all the paddle comes in a variety of sizes and offsets to fit specific needs of any paddler.

This is the best paddle on the market in my opinion. While the nicer carbon paddles feel really nice, the straight shaft fiberglass paddles are the most reliable and strongest out there. When I put on a demanding creek, this is the paddle I want in my hands. It has big blades that will grab the water and make your boofs fly. It paddles very smoothly entering and exiting the water. Great for river running!

This is the perfect companion to the shogun. It has the same awesome blade shape, but with a fiber glass blade. This is the paddle I use for rockier creeks because it is so durable. It can take a lot of rock beatings and last a long time.
