I've tried numerous pairs of gloves and pogies for winter surf ski use in frigid northeast New England waters. Before trying these Toaster Mitts, I'd settled on Level Six gloves as the best combination of warmth and dexterity.
Tried the toaster mitts today in 19 degree temps. Despite a degree of bunching, which may or may not have been due to sizing, I was amazed at the warmth of these mitts; my hands were actually sweating. The grip on the paddle shaft is decent. These will be my 'go to' choice for seriously cold temps. Nice product, NRS.

my new favorite piece for cold weather. I have been using these things every play session this winter and have been very happy. They not only keep your hands really warm, but help stop water come in your wrist gaskets so they help keep you extra dry when the water is cold. I have found that they make a huge difference in my paddling when my hands are nice and warm.
Toaster mitts the name say it all. I paddle all year round in these glove. The water is warn in side the glove. If you a are planning to paddle all year round you need a pare of toaster mitts

In my opinion, mittens are the only way for your hands to stay truly warm when paddling in the winter. Gloves and pogies just don't cut it when there stream banks are lined with ice and the water temperatures are in the 30s. The NRS mittens keep your hands warm in the worst conditions with minimal loss of dexterity.
